Educational Resources

There are a variety of PIV-I related groups, vendors, information and recorded webinars and YouTube videos that promote education on the PIV and PIV-I standard as well as general identity management information. Below is a list of some online resources.

Please note that most of these resources approach PIV-I as both a logical access tool to access computer networks and physical access tool to access physical structures/systems and restricted areas. This pilot project will only focus on logical access (data access) for purposes of sharing sensitive information between operational personnel from the business-to-business and business to-government perspectives.

This video, entitled “Identity First Principles,” describes fundamental identity management concepts, including core identity, identity attributes, personas, root identity, trust, attribute aggregation and privacy. These can be complex concepts for non-identity experts. However, these videos were produced in an easy-to-understand manner, regardless of your expertise.
