The 3RD Data Driven Decision Making (3DM) Workshop
 
You are being invited to attend the 3RD Data Driven Decision Making (3DM) Workshop, an information sharing initiative of the Multi-State Fleet Response Working Group (FRWG).
 
An Industry and Government Initiative to Enhance Disaster Response & Resilience Decision Making with Science and Directed Data 
 
This workshop is being organized by the Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP Federation), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and the Multi-State Fleet Response Working Group (FRWG) of the All Hazards Consortium (AHC).


Date: Thursday, April 13, 2017
Time: 8:00am – 3:00pm Eastern
Location:  Con Edison, 4 Irving Place, New York, NY  10003
 
Con Edison Headquarters is located at 4 Irving Place (between 14th & 15th Street).  Our office is conveniently located near most subway lines that go to Union Square.

The #4, #5, #6, L, N, and R train stop by 14th Street-Union Square.
 
When you arrive in the lobby, please make a left into the reception area.  You will need a government issued photo ID when checking in with reception.  Reception will call  me when you arrive and I will come down and escort you to the 19th Floor Auditorium.

Overview: 
This will be the third 3DM (Data Driven Decision Making) Workshop designed to engage industry (electric, food, fuel & telecom) and government (local, state, federal) to identify federal agency and research organization data sets and technologies that can be used by states/locals and industry to enhance local/regional disaster related decision making, situational awareness, operational coordination and communications.
 
This workshop will build upon the outputs of the previous workshops held in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA here consensus agreement was reached upon the following:

  • The need for better data in security and disaster response related decision making
  • The 3DM initiative to be managed by the All Hazards Consortium’s SISE (Sensitive Information Sharing Environment) Working Group
  • The initiative’s process to merge data for enhancing decision support
  • The approach to use private sector based “Use Cases” to organize people and data
  • The methodology being used for matching data sets and solutions
  • The timeline going forward for the effort
 
 
3DM Meeting Objectives: 
  1. Recap actions since last meeting
  2. Discuss and agree upon prioritized Use Cases
  3. Discuss Use Case template (in progress0
  4. Outcomes from sector interviews
  5. Demonstrations
  6. Decide on next steps
